Terms of service
The agreement between you and Self Help Letters Boutique, run by Kel Mc. Last updated 27 August 2026. Using the app means you accept these terms.
This is information, not legal advice
The Boutique is a self-help library: templates, guides, story lessons and AI-assisted tools that help you write your own letters and understand your own situation. We are not a law firm, we are not your solicitor, and nothing here creates a client relationship.
You decide what to send and you remain responsible for it. No outcome is promised. For anything with a deadline, a court date, or a risk to your home, income or children, get advice from a qualified adviser as well.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over and give a working email address.
- One person per account — keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account.
- We can suspend an account that is being used to break these terms.
Subscriptions and billing
- Core is £4.99 a month. Premium is £17.99 a month or £169 a year. Prices include VAT where it applies.
- Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe, and again automatically on each renewal date until you cancel.
- Renewals continue at the same interval — monthly plans renew monthly, yearly plans renew yearly.
- Cancel any time from Manage subscription; access runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged pro rata for the rest of the period.
- If a payment fails we may retry it and pause paid access until it clears.
- We can change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal.
Refunds and your 14-day cancellation right are set out in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
What your subscription includes
A personal, non-transferable licence to use the content and tools in your tier for your own affairs, or for someone you are helping directly and without charge. Content is added and revised over time; individual items may change or be withdrawn, though we will not gut a tier of the thing you subscribed for.
Acceptable use
- Do not resell, republish, share logins or bundle the content into another product or service.
- Do not use the material to run a paid advice service of your own.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or copy the library.
- Do not use the AI tools to produce threatening, harassing, dishonest or unlawful material.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the app's security.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep the app running but cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Planned work will be kept short and, where possible, announced.
We are not liable for decisions you take based on the content, for outcomes of letters you send, or for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose. Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, and none of this affects your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

All content, wording, structure and design of Self Help Letters Boutique is © 2026 Kel Mc, all rights reserved. Letters you personalise and send are yours to use freely.
Ending the agreement, and the law that applies
You may close your account at any time. We may end this agreement on notice, or immediately for a serious breach, refunding any unused paid period unless the breach caused the closure.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
